Invisalign – a clear alternative to braces

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the virtually invisible way to straighten your teeth and achieve the smile you’ve always dreamed of. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology a series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth to move them little by little. You wear each aligner for about two weeks before replacing it with the next in the series, gradually moving towards the projected final position. It can correct a wide variety of problems from crooked and sticking out teeth to those that have relapsed after previously wearing braces. Invisalign has successfully treated over 2.5 million people.

How is the treatment carried out?

A registered Invisalign Provider makes an initial assessment appointment to determine the patient’s suitability. Once the patient decides the treatment is right for them, the provider takes impressions and photographs of their teeth. Using the advanced 3D imaging technology Invisalign create a 3D movie or smile simulation; patients love this because they can see how their new smile will look even before the treatment has started. Only two weeks later, the first aligners arrived. You replace these every two weeks and return to the practice every 6-8 weeks to ensure your teeth are moving into their desired position.

What are the features?

Invisalign is virtually invisible.  The clear aligners are made to fit your teeth so they are comfortable and irritation-free. You wear them for 22 hours a day and can easily remove them for eating and brushing. Because they don’t interfere with speech, they are a popular choice among many patients.
